How Millicent is Seeing Light in the Darkness

by | Nov 27, 2022

Light overcomes darkness through the Spiritual Development pillar of our Education Program. Let’s hear how our student Millicent has been impacted by the program’s focus on growth in our relationships with God and His people!

“My name is Millicent Amondi, and I am 23 years old. I am a student at St. Paul’s University studying Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Administration. I am passionate about this career because I want to impact other people’s lives, especially the orphaned and vulnerable children who may be going through the same hardships I went through at a young age. The pain of losing both parents and the feeling like there is no one to stand in the gap for you for a long time is unbearable. I joined Take Heart back in 2017 after graduating from high school and aging out of the orphanage I grew up in. The Spiritual Development pillar of the Take Heart Education Program has impacted my life so positively. The weekly discipleship program has helped me change my mental perspective of life; it has nurtured my leadership role as well as my spiritual responsibilities. I am learning how to strengthen my spiritual gift of service where we are all given opportunity to find topics and share with our small groups every week. The Take Heart annual conference that is held at the end of every year has helped me differentiate what is godly and what my culture tells me is right. Take Heart has helped me see light amidst the darkness, open my inner sight to listen to God as I work through my past, and focus towards being the change I wish to see in my community.”

Let’s bring more light to darkness together by reaching our $6,000 #GivingTuesday goal by November 29th so that more students like Millicent can have community and courage in their journey of spiritual growth! Donate Here!
