Education

General student sponsorship

Education has the power to break the cycle of poverty and transform generations. Through Take Heart, we currently sponsor 100+ students across Kenya, from primary school through university, providing access to education, discipleship, and mentorship.

Student Sponsorship

Hopa Frier academy sponsorship

Now, we’re expanding that mission with the opening of Hopa Frier Academy, Take Heart’s very first school, in January 2027! We are seeking 75 founding sponsors to help welcome our first students into a Christ-centered learning environment. Whether you choose to sponsor a student through our existing education program or become a founding sponsor of Hopa Frier Academy, you are investing in a future filled with hope and opportunity.

Entrepreneurship

Small Business Opportunities & Farming Projects
We partner with 30+ widows to earn a living wage through sugar cane farming and small business opportunities. Women participating in this program are building a community of farmers and business entrepreneurs to revitalize their village. Take Heart provides full health care coverage and education to their children so they can focus their sustainable income.

Fair Trade

Shop local. Impact global

Every purchase has a story. At the Take Heart Store, you’ll find fair trade and artisan-made goods from around the world, each created with purpose and helping provide sustainable income and opportunity for artisans and their families.

Even better, proceeds from our store help support Take Heart’s work with orphans and widows in Kenya—so when you shop, your impact reaches far beyond Lakeland.

Hopa Frier Academy

Hopa Frier Academy is Take Heart’s school in rural Migori County, Kenya, created to provide children with access to quality education in a safe, nurturing environment. Opening in January 2027 with PP1, PP2, and Grade 1, the school will grow by one grade each year as we invest in the next generation. More than a school, Hopa Frier Academy is a place where students will be known, empowered, and equipped to build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
