Meet Pastor Joshua….

JoshuaResiding in Kenya, Pastor Joshua is Take Heart’s go-to, boots-on-the-ground contact. He serves this organization with both diligence and faithfulness, and we are so grateful for him and his family. By providing us with regular email and photo updates, he keeps us in regular contact with those we are serving. Many of the updates on our blog will come from him, since he is there (Kenya) and we are here (Florida).

Pastor Joshua’s diligence to God’s calling and his passion for sharing the gospel, offering encouragement, and helping widows and orphans naturally led him to a life of service as a pastor. He enjoys sharing, encouraging, and leading others to Christ through projects that illustrate, in a tangible way, Christ’s perfect love for us. His confidence and the joy necessary to continue his work comes through providing hope to the hopeless.

Having worked with numerous missions organizations, such as Living Hope and the Kenya Red Cross, Pastor Joshua is uniquely qualified to serve the people of Kenya. He was born in a rural village of Oyuma in the Nyaduong area of Migori County. He completed his elementary and high school education in the same area and later joined the Kenya Polytechnic University to pursue a career in medical laboratory technology in Nairobi. While working with Spectromed Laboratories, he joined the Word of Faith Bible Institute taking combined courses in ministry and receiving a diploma in theology. He returned to his village, sharing all that he had learned with both passion and grace, and organized home groups and bible studies. Many joined him, and together they began a church that continues to meet the needs of neglected widows and orphans in his community.

For the past 11 years, Pastor Joshua has served his local church and its people because he enjoys doing so. Studying the Word of God, visiting with those in the community, and working with various charity organizations, he tries his best to live out the message of James 1:27. He and his wife, Morine, strive to live their lives as a diligent, trustworthy, loving, and caring servants.

Take Heart is blessed to have Pastor Joshua and his family living the mission, in a rural village in Kenya, that we’ve all been called to live wherever we may be. His service to this organization is invaluable and we are grateful for him.

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. -James 1:27
